DISBURSEMENT On Wednesday, 24th August 2022, Effia -Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly completed the 1st disbursement of items for the year 2022. This disbursement is however the 9th so far held by the Assembly since the inception of EKMA. The Assembly has so far assisted Two hundred and thirty-three (233) PWDs and is more poised on the agenda of helping the PWDs within the Municipality.The Assembly is looking forward to getting more funds from the Government by way of the 3% District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) that comes to the Assembly to get these items and carry out more disbursements before the end of the year. The items for disbursements were: Deep freezers, School items/fees, Provisions, Cosmetics, Rubber Slippers, Hairdressing items, Stationary, Hair product, Second-hand clothing, Soap, and detergent.Fifty (50) application letters were vetted and from that, the total number of beneficiaries for the disbursement was twenty-one (21) of which male beneficiaries are seven (7) and the female beneficiaries are fourteen (14). All these twenty-one beneficiaries were selected from seven (7) communities within the Municipality. The beneficiaries are categorized as follows: Physically challenged – 10, Deaf – 4, Blind – 5 Intellectual Disability – 2. Seven (7) beneficiary communities included Tanokrom -2, Effia – 8, Assakae-1, Anaji -5, Apremdo – 5, Whindo -1, and Kwesimintsim -2.Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kojo Acquah admonished the beneficiaries to make good use of items by serving its intended purpose.
