The Municipal Chief Executive for Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly, Hon Kojo Acquah joined the Muslim fraternity to celebrate this year’s EID-UL ADHA on Tuesday 20th July, 2021 at both Kwesimintsim and Effiakuma respectively.
In the accordance with the significance of the celebration, he presented Rams and assorted items on Monday 19th July 2021 to designated Chief Imams on behalf of the Assembly in observance of the revered sacrifice to commemorate the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to the Almighty Allah (God)
The Hon. M.C.E admonished the Muslim fraternity not to forget its significance as the Prophet Ibrahim whose devotion and obedience to the Almighty Allah should not be a tale of admiration but a turning point on their faith and relations with God the creator, He further reiterated that they should learn from his dedication and renew their faith constantly and ensure they obey Allah in whatever they do. Again, he stressed on the Covid-19 pandemic which is being experienced by the world over and another offspring of a new virus called ‘Delta’ which is spreading very fast and they need to be very cautious and follow all the safety protocols put in place by the government. Hon. Kojo Acquah also seized the opportunity to thank His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo for such a courageous and good work by alleviating the plight of the masses through some social interventions such as free light and water, National Unemployment Insurance Scheme, Free Scholarship and Soft loans for SME’s to boost their businesses due to the Covid-19 pandemic and as such the government will do everything possible to improve the living standard of the people especially the Zongo Communities.
He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for other constant prayers and co-operation since assuming office as the M.C.E and hope they will continue praying for the government to deliver to the expectation of the masses and urge all of them to be very moderate in their celebration as they need them alive to help move the country forward and wished them ‘BARAKA DA SALAH’.
