Earlier today, the Municipal Chief Executive for the Effia-Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly (EKMA), Hon. Abdul Majeed Iddrisu, joined the Western Regional Minister, Hon. Joseph Nelson, and security agencies to mark World Environment Day with a symbolic tree planting exercise at the Naval Base, where 100 Royal Palms were planted to promote environmental sustainability. With support from Karpowership, the region also aims to plant an additional 3,000 trees in the Subri Forest Reserve under the theme: “Restoring Degraded Landscapes” as part of ongoing efforts to combat deforestation and restore degraded ecosystems.
