The Effia- Kwesimintsim Municipal Assembly organized an inaugural ceremony on Monday, 19th February 2024 to fully constitute the Effia and Kwesimintsim Urban Councils to undertake their respective mandates in line with Legislative Instrument (L.I) 1967, 2010.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Kojo Acquah sworn into office sixty-five (65) newly elected Unit Committee members consisting of thirty-five (35) and thirty (30) members from Kwesimintsim and Effia Urban Councils respectively. He led them to take the Official oath, Oath of Secrecy and Oath of Allegiance under the Local Governance Act (L.I) 1967, 2010.
Sequel to this, a meeting was convened by Members on the selection of Chairpersons for each council, after which Hon. Emmanuel Tobis of West Tanokrom Electoral and Hon. Joseph Anhwer of Anaji West Electoral Areas were successfully selected as Chairpersons for the Effia and Kwesiminstim Urban Council respectively.
